We do not require accounts and do not upload your recordings or exports to Screenfully servers. Our Approach to Data Minimization

  • Limiting collection to technical and product-usage data and not collecting or processing recordings as telemetry

  • Diagnostics Services: We use Sentry for iOS diagnostics and crash reporting.

Your recordings and exports are not uploaded to Screenfully servers and are not analyzed as analytics telemetry.

Our App and website may integrate with third-party services for essential functionality:

  • Payment Processing: Apple's App Store (StoreKit 2) for iOS subscriptions and payment management. These services have their own privacy policies.
  • Analytics: Firebase (website analytics) and Supabase-backed analytics infrastructure (iOS app analytics).
  • Diagnostics: Sentry for iOS crash and error diagnostics.

These third parties may use cookies or similar technologies, but they do not have access to your recordings or exported media. Screenfully does not share your recordings with any third-party services because we never have access to them—they remain on your device.

Your Choices Regarding Cookies and Tracking

You have control over how cookies and similar technologies are used:

  • In the App: You can control some data collection through app and device settings. iOS analytics can be disabled in the app settings.
  • On our website: On pages where our cookie banner is shown, you can accept or decline non-essential analytics cookies. You can reset your preference by clearing browser cookies/local storage and revisiting the site.
  • Browser settings: You can configure your browser to warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser settings. Since each browser is different, please refer to your browser's Help Menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies.

If you decline cookies or disable them:

  • Essential functionality storage may still be used where required for core app or website behavior
  • Some features may be disabled, and some parts of the App or website may not function optimally

Even if you decline cookies, you can still use our App and website, though some functionality may be limited. Your recordings are never affected by cookie preferences as they are stored locally on your device.

Data Storage and Retention

Your recordings and exports are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted or stored on Screenfully servers unless you explicitly share them.

Any limited information collected through cookies and similar technologies (such as analytics and diagnostics metadata) is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Cookie Policy.

Retention periods for analytics and diagnostics data vary by system configuration, operational needs, and legal requirements. We periodically review retention settings and minimize stored data where feasible.

Preference data stored locally on your device (such as subscription status, cookie consent, and app preferences) remains on your device until you delete the App, clear app/site data, or reset your browser storage.

Do Not Track

Some internet browsers and devices have "Do Not Track" features that allow you to tell websites and applications not to track your online activities.

There is currently no universally adopted standard for interpreting Do Not Track signals. We continue to evaluate privacy controls as standards and platform support evolve. Your recordings are never uploaded to Screenfully servers by default and remain on your device unless you choose to share them.
